Thanks to a grant from the state Department of Environmental Management, there will be a new playground, adult fitness park and pickleball courts.
TIVERTON — The town has been awarded a $375,000 grant to rehabilitate Town Farm’s playgrounds that fell into disrepair several years ago, but the new play areas will not only be for children — an adult fitness park is part of the project, as are pickleball courts.

Janet Coit, director of the state Department of Environmental Management, said in the letter to Gilfillen there were 55 applications, totaling $13 million, to fund recreational facilities around the state.
